This coffee in Las Planadas beans from South America comes from the Grupo Sierra cooperative located at an altitude of 1700 metres in the heart of the Sierra Nevada. This pure origin organic Arabica has a delicious red fruit profile, with notes similar to blackcurrant confit, walnut and cocoa. Medium+ roast specially designed for making good espressos.

An organic coffee bean that is ideal for your espresso
Enjoy a coffee with a clean, cocoa-like punch, with notes of walnut, offering a powerful, almost woody cup. Its final touch is softened by nuances of blackcurrant jam with a hint of floral.
Thanks to its medium+ roast, between dark roast and medium roast, this coffee offers exceptional roundness and consistency in the cup. The aim of this roast is to reveal all the sweetness of the coffee and to find a nice balance in the cup.

A pure origin coffee grown by Grupo Sierra
Las Planadas coffee comes from the Sierra Nevada region, in the province of La Magdalena, where producers have joined forces to grow high-quality, certified organic and environmentally friendly coffee.
The plantations, located at an altitude of 1,700 metres, benefit from an ideal microclimate with sandy soils and an average annual temperature of 27°C. Harvesting takes place between November and January, with cherries picked by hand and processed the same day using the washed method.
After fermenting for 13 to 15 hours, the beans, which are of the Castillo and Colombia varieties, are sun-dried on African beds for 15 to 20 days, thus preserving the coffee's aroma and quality.

The type of roast will affect the balance of flavours (bitterness, acidity, sweetness, etc.) and reveal the aromas of the terroir to a greater or lesser extent.
The more the coffee is roasted the more its colour will change (from light to dark). The darker the roast, the more the aromatic notes are lost in favour of the roasting notes.
All our coffees have been placed in a colorimeter by our experts in order to compare the roast intensity.
The aromatic groups describe the tasting notes of your cup (hazelnut, chocolate, peach, white flowers, etc.).
If you don't know what your coffee profile is yet, we advise you to start with the most appreciated aromatic groups: rich & sweet or woody.
