Las Planadas Organic in a Freshness-Preserving Value Pack
With this 1 kg pack made up of 4 x 250 g bags, you can enjoy Las Planadas Organic coffee beans for even longer while preserving the freshness of the beans every time you open a new bag. Ideal for regular espresso lovers, this practical format helps protect the coffee’s rich aromas far better than a single large bag.
In the cup, this Colombian organic speciality coffee reveals an expressive and indulgent profile. It opens with bold notes of cocoa and walnut, before developing into a full-bodied, almost woody mouthfeel. The finish becomes softer and more delicate, revealing hints of blackcurrant jam with a subtle floral touch.
Its Medium+ roast, specially crafted for espresso and bean-to-cup machines, delivers a rounded, intense and beautifully balanced cup.
Why not also explore our other coffee beans and discover a world of origins and flavour profiles?
A Colombian Coffee Born in the Mountains of Tolima
Las Planadas Organic is grown at Finca La Roma, located in Planadas, in the southern part of Tolima. This mountainous region of Colombia is now recognised as one of the country's leading speciality coffee terroirs, thanks to its exceptional natural conditions and the dedication of its local coffee producers.
This coffee is part of the Black Condor Project, an initiative launched in 2019 alongside Emmanuel, a third-generation coffee producer, and Forest Coffee. The project supports more than fifteen coffee-growing villages in Gaitania, helping to improve coffee quality while ensuring growers receive greater value for their harvests.
Producers benefit from regular training in fermentation, drying, cupping and quality-focused practices. This long-term approach helps build a more sustainable supply chain, with farmers earning premiums of up to nearly 30% above conventional market prices.
Caturra, Castillo and a Washed Process: The Perfect Balance
This coffee brings together the Caturra and Castillo varieties. Caturra is prized for its refined aromatics, lively acidity and natural sweetness. Castillo, developed by Cenicafé, contributes greater body and remarkable consistency in the cup, while offering improved resistance to coffee leaf rust.
The coffee cherries are hand-picked at peak ripeness before being carefully pulped. The beans are then left with their mucilage for around 24 hours, before being gently washed with clean water. Drying takes place slowly on patios over 15 to 25 days, depending on the weather conditions.
This washed process highlights a clean, structured cup with outstanding aromatic clarity and a deliciously smooth profile that is perfectly suited to espresso.
