Fruity and comforting: an intense coffee with notes of red berries
Originating from the mountains of the Eastern Highlands in Papua New Guinea, this coffee from the Baroida farm reveals an intense and expressive cup, characterised by a beautiful aromatic maturity.
The natural process enhances the richness of the fruit, giving rise to a profile where red fruits, currant, and strawberry blend with deeper notes of dried fig, molasses, and chocolate, highlighted by a slightly spicy touch.
A structured and generous cup, balancing between indulgence and controlled fermentative complexity.

Baroïda Estate: a high-altitude coffee grown in the Eastern Highlands
Located in the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea, the Baroïda farm has been operated for several generations by the Colbran family, closely involved in the development of a local coffee-growing industry focused on quality. The coffee trees grow between 1,700 and 1,850 metres above sea level, under shade and in the heart of an agroforestry environment that helps preserve the balance of the soil and crops.
The farm ensures continuity between the work carried out in the plots and post-harvest operations. The proximity of the facilities notably allows freshly picked cherries to be processed quickly, an important factor in controlling the natural process and obtaining consistent and expressive batches.
The iconic varieties of Baroïda Estate
The Baroïda Estate brings together several heirloom Arabica varieties: Arusha, Bourbon, Typica, and Mundo Novo.
Planted during the 20th century, they have gradually adapted to the climate and altitude of the Eastern Highlands. This varietal diversity contributes to the complexity of the coffee: each variety brings its own characteristics and helps to create a cup that is rich, structured, and naturally sweet.
After a manual harvest of cherries that have reached maturity, the coffee is processed using a natural process. The fruits are sorted and then dried whole on beds, with regular turning to promote slow and even drying. This mastery of processing contributes to the development of the coffee’s sweetness and aromatic intensity, while preserving a precise and clear expression in the cup.
