India Green Coffee

Arabica Green Coffee Beans With Woody, Vegetal Notes

How would you like to enjoy a freshly brewed coffee at home? It's now possible with green coffee from the Karnataka region of India, processed using the monsooned process. Once roasted and ground at home, this coffee is distinguished by its pervasive aromatic richness in the cup for an incomparable tasting experience.

Explore green coffee from the Karnataka region of India, a combination of several arabica varieties (Catuai, Cauvery and SL9) grown at an altitude of 1500 metres. These beans are selectively harvested by hand and then subjected to the monsooned process.

The origins of monsooned coffee go back to a singular anecdote: cargoes of Indian coffee, en route to Europe via the Cape of Good Hope, were exposed to strong humidity and the salty winds of the monsoon during the journey. These conditions helped to create a low-acid coffee with woody aromas, particularly of wild herbs.

Today, the coffee is processed according to the same principle. It is spread out in open warehouses for 4 to 5 days, then placed in bags, stored and arranged in such a way as to leave space between them to allow the monsoon to influence the coffee. After several weeks, the coffee changes colour, taking on a yellow tinge, marking the 'monsooned' process.

Each bag of green coffee provides detailed information such as density, hydrometry, etc.

Please note: Green coffee must be roasted before being used in an automatic machine or grinder. Failure to do so could damage your equipment.
