The Standard Etched Dispersion Screen, also known as a standard etched filter, is a tool designed to improve extraction consistency and protect the shower head of your coffee machine. Placed directly on top of the coffee in the portafilter, it helps to distribute the water more evenly, thereby limiting flow channels.

Unlike Flair’s original dispersion screen, which sat on top of the portafilter, this improved version is placed directly on top of the puck of ground coffee. This positioning ensures a more even water distribution, a better fill, and enhanced protection of the coffee bed before extraction begins.
