Pirates Coffee Beans: Austrian Roasters and Pure Origin Coffee from Papua New Guinea
Coffee Pirates offers a unique specialty coffee from Papua New Guinea Kindeng Mill.
As an experienced specialty coffee lover, you'll love exploring these new flavours. Expect to revolutionise your coffee break with this fruity Arabica coffee.
Coffee production in Papua New Guinea is unique because of the way it is harvested and exported. The majority of production is carried out by small farmers working in ‘gardens’. Sourcing coffee is complex, due to the logistical, cultural and linguistic challenges.
This coffee is a real gem, acquired by Café Imports in Berlin and sourced from Kindeng Dry Mill, located in the province of Jikawa in the heart of the Western Highlands and Wahgi Valley. Around 1,500 growers in the Kindeng and Arufa municipalities have harvested these cherries from varieties such as Arusha, Bourbon and Typica, which have reached maturity at altitudes of between 1,520 and 1,770 metres.
You'll love this coffee for its richly flavoured espresso. It is distinguished by its dominant notes of red and yellow berries. From the very first sip, you'll be seduced by the red berries notes, particularly grape juice and black cherry. On the finish, its mouthfeel reveals delicate hints of apple.
