Traditional Coffee : These are the most widespread coffees in the various distribution channels in France, both private and professional.
Classic Coffee : There is generally a lack of information about the traceability of these coffees. They are often mass-market products and are easily accessible. The composition of these coffees can vary from 100% Arabica to over 20% Robusta.
The higher the rating, the more surprising your coffee tasting experience will be.
Gran Aroma: The Italian Coffee You Simply Must Try
If there is one must-try coffee from Caffè Vergnano, it is undoubtedly Gran Aroma. Available in several formats, including this 500 g pack, it’s perfect for exploring different coffee styles (lungo, doppio…).
This blend combines Arabica and Robusta beans. The Arabica originates from South and Central America (Santo Domingo and Marcala, Honduras), while the Robusta is sourced from Asia.
Lovers of bold, full-bodied coffee will be delighted by its powerful flavour, syrupy body, and long-lasting finish, unveiling intense aromas with hints of malt, fruit, and rich chocolate notes. Caffè Vergnano is a company that boasts a long and prestigious history.
The company was founded way back in 1882 by Domenico Vergnano, grandfather of the current owners, who set up business in the small medieval town of Chieri, at the foot of Turin Hill.
The true vocation of the Vergnano family became apparent very quickly: in just a few years they mastered the art of coffee-roasting and selling.
The type of roast will affect the balance of flavours (bitterness, acidity, sweetness, etc.) and reveal the aromas of the terroir to a greater or lesser extent.
The more the coffee is roasted the more its colour will change (from light to dark). The darker the roast, the more the aromatic notes are lost in favour of the roasting notes.
All our coffees have been placed in a colorimeter by our experts in order to compare the roast intensity.
The aromatic groups describe the tasting notes of your cup (hazelnut, chocolate, peach, white flowers, etc.).
If you don't know what your coffee profile is yet, we advise you to start with the most appreciated aromatic groups: rich & sweet or woody.
