Features of the 9090 Alessi moka pot
This Alessi moka pot 9090 espresso induction is a top-of-the-range Italian coffee maker. The body of the coffee maker is made from 18/10 stainless steel, and the handle is made from cast aluminium, making it lightweight and easy to hold.
Its 15cl capacity makes around three cups of coffee, a perfect size for everyday use. Be careful, though, to use the correct grind for moka pot, to avoid unsightly deposits at the bottom of the cup.

The design of the Alessi moka pot by Richard Sapper
Richard Sapper is a famous German designer who was born in 1932 before choosing Italy as his adopted country in 1958. Made famous by products created in partnership with leading Italian brands such as Brionvega and La Rinascente, he has won no fewer than ten Compasso d'Oro awards. This is one of the world's oldest and most influential international product design awards. So it's hardly surprising that the Alessi brand has teamed up with a man who is regarded as an integral part of the history of Italian design.
The result is a boldly curved induction moka pot that has no equal among Italian coffee makers. Much more than just a coffee maker, it's a genuine decorative object with a contemporary style, incredible quality and sturdiness.
Alessi, founded in 1921 by Giovanni Alessi, has long been at the forefront of innovative and inspired product design and boasts a wide range of products, from the iconic whistle kettle to the designer fly swatter.
The company founded a dynasty not only with products for the general public - including service trays and cutlery for everyday use - but also by creating some of the most famous cult objects of our time.
The type of roast will affect the balance of flavours (bitterness, acidity, sweetness, etc.) and reveal the aromas of the terroir to a greater or lesser extent.
The more the coffee is roasted the more its colour will change (from light to dark). The darker the roast, the more the aromatic notes are lost in favour of the roasting notes.
All our coffees have been placed in a colorimeter by our experts in order to compare the roast intensity.
The aromatic groups describe the tasting notes of your cup (hazelnut, chocolate, peach, white flowers, etc.).
If you don't know what your coffee profile is yet, we advise you to start with the most appreciated aromatic groups: rich & sweet or woody.
Please Note: this is not a flavoured coffee but aromatic notes noticed upon tasting.
The dominant aromatic group represents the most perceptible notes and the secondary group, the more subtle notes present in the cup.
Traditional Coffees (classic and superior) are the most common in the various distribution channels.
Specialty Coffees (rated 80-100) are among the best coffees in the world and represent less than 10% of world production. These are flawless coffees that offer unique tasting notes from one terroir (or even plot) to another.
Attributed by “Q Graders”, a coffee's /100 score is determined by the quality of the beans and the result in the cup. It is advisable to progressively move towards coffees with higher scores.
