Senseo's story

The brand was created in 2001 in the Netherlands, following a partnership between two large companies: Philips and Douwe Egberts. It was Philips that launched this type of coffee maker with soft pods. The coffee comes from Douwe Egberts, now Jacobs Douwe Egberts, which is recognised as one of the coffee giants.

The Viva Café Eco model, made from recycled plastics and with the lowest energy consumption, is part of Senseo's committed approach.

This model is also available in an original version with an aroma booster system thanks to a pre-infusion of the pod. This technology makes the coffee taste richer and more intense. The Senseo Quadrante allows you to set the desired intensity and brings a contemporary touch to your home.

The Senseo Original provides a fine, smooth crema on your beverages, as well as enhanced aromas.

Senseo pods

Senseo capsules are made from UTZ certified coffee. Senseo capsules

Senseo offers ground coffee capsules in a variety of flavours: fruity, spicy, fresh, full-bodied... These are the brand's classics, so the range is a little less extensive than the pods. Senseo capsules are compatible with Nespresso coffee machines.

They are made entirely of aluminium, which is known to effectively preserve the aromas and flavours of coffee. It has the advantage of being fully recyclable.

Can the maintenance of my machine affect the quality of my drinks?

If the temperature or the quantity of coffee in your drinks drops or if you no longer get enough foam, you need to clean and descale your machine.

As a general rule, it is advisable to descale your machine every three months or so in order to extend its life.

As coffee is mostly made of water, scale or water filtration will directly affect the taste of your drinks. You can use a filter to insert in your water tank or use a carafe filter to have purified water.
