The two founders, Augustin Paluel-Marmont and Michel de Rovira, started making biscuits at the end of 2004, first in their own oven, then in bakeries and biscuit shops. The brand was expanded in 2006 with new flavours.. The brand relies on strong communication, the buzz, to generate word-of-mouth around the brand, and thus develop its reputation. In 2010, Michel et Augustin was awarded the Phénix prize for innovation and communication by the Union of Advertisers, ahead of Évian and McDonald's.
