Why buy a porcelain teapot?

We often find porcelain teapots at our grandparents' homes because they are out of fashion, not because they are a safe bet. The advantages of the porcelain teapot are that it doesn't change the taste of your tea and it keeps the heat of your drink.

Because of its heat retention, it is advisable to use it when brewing long infusions (minimum 5 minutes) such as white tea, verbena or lime. This allows you to enjoy your drink for a long time.

Different types of porcelain teapots

English porcelain teapot

There is always the English porcelain teapot with its iconic shape and floral decoration. It gives a distinguished touch, however, it is a bit from another time. Today with a more contemporary style, the porcelain teapot retains its advantages with a modern twist.

White porcelain teapot

Often the most sought-after teapots are the so-called "pure" ones in "white". One of the best known is the Douro range from Bodum with its rounded shape and oak handle. This teapot offers an infusion with a plunger that you simply press when the time is up. This teapot is available in white and black porcelain.

The porcelain herbal teapot

The porcelain herbal teapot retains the advantages of the porcelain teapot in its ability to retain heat and not alter the taste of your tea during the brewing process. The teapot can be used with any type of tea. If you are brewing a drink containing herbs, it is best to use the lid to retain their goodness. The teapot has a comforting feel when held in the hands.

How to clean a porcelain teapot?

Cleaning a porcelain teapot is simple, however, it is a fragile material. It is not advisable to use any kind of product. You can use bicarbonate of soda, which is a natural and ecological solution.

To do this, put 4 teaspoons of bicarbonate in your teapot and two spoons of hot water. Take a cloth and rub the inside. The bicarbonate will remove the tannin residue as well as the limescale which can bring bacteria.
