The Moka Express is the very first Italian moka pot. It was designed in 1933 by the engineer Alfonso Bialetti, who wanted to take part in the revolutionary century in which he was living by revolutionising an everyday activity.

It was while observing laundresses at work that he came up with the idea of adapting the principle of the washing machine to the preparation of coffee. His motivation: ‘FAST, STRONG, RESISTANT, LIKE THE CAFFEINE.

Over the years, his design inspired by the physique of Alfonso Bialetti's wife has been worked on to produce this model combining elegance and performance.
