The Bialetti Moka Express 90th Anniversary Edition
Rediscover the most iconic of all Italian coffee makers
The birth of the Bialetti Moka Express Italian coffee maker
The Bialetti Moka Pot has represented the Italian way of life and conviviality since 1933.
It was created by Alfonso Bialetti in a century marked by major transformations: Futurism, technological progress and social revolutions. Against this backdrop, Alfonso Bialetti decided to revolutionise an everyday gesture by creating a perfect coffee maker that was easy to use, light, strong and synonymous with modernity.
The Moka Express : a tribute to coffee
Inspired by a washing machine (a container to be heated over a fire, with a steel tube at the centre from which soapy water emerged), he created what has become a symbol: the Moka Express. The name was chosen in honour of the town of Mokha in Yemen, a place famous for a variety of highly prized coffees.
As for the shape of the Moka, it was Alfonso's wife who inspired it with her silhouette. The iconic 8-sided shape of the Moka is broken down as follows: the head, broad shoulders, narrow waist, arm to the side and a pleated skirt...
The iconic Italian coffee maker today
To celebrate the 90th anniversary of the first of its Italian coffee makers, Bialetti is revisiting the three-cup Moka Express. The coffeemaker retains all the advantages it is known for: magnability, ease of maintenance, ergonomics... Its design has been revised to include a series of elements on one side of the coffeemaker that pay homage to coffee. The coffeemaker comes in an attractive pouch with the same design, which can be closed with two drawstrings and carried anywhere. It's ideal for anyone who likes to travel, so they can easily protect and store their coffee maker!
Choose Bialetti and support WWF
Bialetti is a WWF partner for the "Ours marsicain 2x50" project.
Protecting the environment has always been at the heart of Bialetti's business, which is why its products are designed to be eco-responsible and sustainable. To further this commitment, Bialetti supports the WWF project to save the Apennine brown bear population from extinction. This brown bear, a symbol of Italy's environmental heritage, is protected under national and international regulations. Unfortunately, its survival remains threatened by anthropogenic changes to the ecosystem, and its population has been reduced to 50-60 individuals. WWF and Bialetti are working together to help this population grow, expand and regulate, while ensuring that conflicts and human activities relating to this majestic animal are managed. Communication, research and monitoring are also at the heart of this ambitious challenge to guarantee a future for Europe's rarest bear. You too can play your part in safeguarding this animal by choosing the Moka express models from Bialetti.
