Paraguay is one of the main producers of organic sugar. The sugar cane is grown by small producers

(between 2 and 3 hectares). The industry then revolves around the sugar industries that process their harvest. In the end, the producers have little bargaining power.

However, a cooperative, Manduvira, which brings together 1500 producers and agricultural workers, has succeeded in establishing itself in the industry. It has its sugar manufactured by a local factory and exports it directly. Recently, the producers decided to build their own sugar cane processing plant.
