Classic Coffee : There is generally a lack of information about the traceability of these coffees. They are often mass-market products and are easily accessible. The composition of these coffees can vary from 100% Arabica to over 20% Robusta.

Our experts have carefully selected three coffee bean varieties highly valued by our customers. The Cremoso, Bar, and Purissima beans each offer a distinct coffee experience, roasted in France to varying intensities. This selection allows you to savour a range of bitterness levels that develop during extraction. We suggest beginning with Purissima, followed by Cremoso, and finishing with the robust and authentic Bar. The 250g Bar Coffee Beans deliver a spicy and indulgent flavour with a very dark roast, perfect for espresso purists seeking a bold, intense cup—ideal as a ristretto for a rich, concentrated extraction highlighting pleasant bitterness. The 250g Cremoso Coffee Beans are cherished for their gourmet yet woody character, offering a powerful cup with a structured body and creamy texture, featuring notes of beechwood, molasses, and cocoa. Lastly, the 250g Purissima Coffee Beans appeal to espresso lovers with their fruity, rounded taste and hints of chocolate, toasted bread, and candied fig, prized for their finesse and aromatic complexity.

Their coffee beans are selected for the richness of their aromatic potential and for the care the producers show to their crops. The green coffee beans are then entrusted to Perleo Espresso master roasters who work with delicacy and precision, following traditional methods. The type of roast will affect the balance of flavours (bitterness, acidity, sweetness, etc.) and reveal the aromas of the terroir to a greater or lesser extent.
The more the coffee is roasted the more its colour will change (from light to dark). The darker the roast, the more the aromatic notes are lost in favour of the roasting notes.
All our coffees have been placed in a colorimeter by our experts in order to compare the roast intensity.
The aromatic groups describe the tasting notes of your cup (hazelnut, chocolate, peach, white flowers, etc.).
If you don't know what your coffee profile is yet, we advise you to start with the most appreciated aromatic groups: rich & sweet or woody.
Please Note: this is not a flavoured coffee but aromatic notes noticed upon tasting.
The dominant aromatic group represents the most perceptible notes and the secondary group, the more subtle notes present in the cup.
Traditional Coffees (classic and superior) are the most common in the various distribution channels.
Specialty Coffees (rated 80-100) are among the best coffees in the world and represent less than 10% of world production. These are flawless coffees that offer unique tasting notes from one terroir (or even plot) to another.
Attributed by “Q Graders”, a coffee's /100 score is determined by the quality of the beans and the result in the cup. It is advisable to progressively move towards coffees with higher scores.
