Las Planadas Organic is grown at Finca La Roma, in the municipality of Planadas, in southern Tolima, Colombia. Thanks to its high altitude, fertile volcanic soils and favourable climate, this mountainous region has become one of Colombia's most renowned origins for exceptional speciality coffee.

This coffee is part of the Black Condor Project, an initiative launched in 2019 in partnership with Emmanuel, a third-generation coffee producer, and Forest Coffee. The project supports more than fifteen coffee-growing communities around Gaitania, helping producers improve coffee quality while creating greater value for their harvests.

Farmers receive ongoing training in key areas such as fermentation, drying, cupping and quality management. This long-term partnership promotes more sustainable coffee production while enabling producers to earn premiums of up to 30% above conventional market prices for their coffees.

Washed Processed Caturra, Castillo Coffee Beans for the Perfect Balance

Las Planadas Organic combines two renowned Colombian coffee varieties: Caturra and Castillo. Caturra is valued for its elegant aromatics, bright acidity and natural sweetness, while Castillo, developed by Cenicafé, adds a fuller body, excellent consistency and greater resistance to coffee leaf rust.

Only perfectly ripe coffee cherries are hand-picked before being carefully pulped. The beans are then left to ferment in their mucilage for around 24 hours, gently washed with clean water and slowly dried on patios for 15 to 25 days, depending on the weather conditions.

This traditional washed process produces a clean, well-structured cup with exceptional clarity, allowing the coffee's distinctive character to shine through. The result is a beautifully balanced espresso with remarkable sweetness, complexity and a smooth, elegant finish.
