Fruity and comforting: an intense coffee with notes of red fruits
Grown in Papua New Guinea’s Eastern Highlands, Baroïda Estate coffee offers a bold, characterful cup with remarkable aromatic depth.
Thanks to its natural processing method, the coffee develops a rich fruit-driven profile. Lively redcurrant and strawberry notes are complemented by the sweetness of dried fig and molasses, while hints of chocolate and gentle spice bring additional depth.
The result is a full-bodied and well-structured specialty coffee, combining generous sweetness with a refined fermented character for a complex and distinctive cup.

Discover Baroïda Estate, Grown High in the Eastern Highlands
In the heart of Papua New Guinea’s Eastern Highlands, the Colbran family has been growing coffee at Baroïda Estate for generations, contributing to a local approach centred on quality and careful cultivation. Set at 1,700 to 1,850 metres above sea level, the coffee trees thrive beneath natural shade in an agroforestry system that supports healthy soils and a balanced growing environment.
At Baroïda Estate, cultivation and post-harvest processing are closely connected. With processing facilities located near the growing areas, freshly harvested coffee cherries can be handled promptly. This careful approach plays a key role in managing the natural process, helping the estate produce consistently expressive and distinctive coffee lots.
The iconic varieties of Baroïda Estate
The Baroïda Estate brings together several heirloom Arabica varieties: Arusha, Bourbon, Typica, and Mundo Novo.
Introduced during the 20th century, they have gradually adapted to the climate and altitude of the Eastern Highlands. This varietal diversity contributes to the complexity of the coffee: each variety brings its own characteristics and helps create a cup that is rich, structured, and naturally sweet.
After a manual harvest of ripe cherries, the coffee is processed using a natural process. The fruits are sorted and then dried whole on beds, with regular turning to promote slow and even drying. This careful handling contributes to the development of the coffee’s sweetness and aromatic intensity while preserving a precise and clear expression in the cup.
