Coffee Pirates has selected these washed Arabica coffee beans of the Castillo variety from the heart of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain region, one of the highest peaks in the world at 5,700 metres.

The La Red de Ecolsierra cooperative, whose coffee trees grow at altitudes of up to 1,500 metres, grows this coffee in an exceptional ecosystem recognised by UNESCO as a vast network home to countless forms of life and several indigenous communities. The soil is rich and the farming entirely organic, producing sensational cup profiles.

The mountainous coffee belt lies at an altitude of between 900 and 1,900 metres, with a microclimate of between 13° and 30°. This location offers ideal conditions for optimal and uniform ripening of the beans, resulting in a harvest rich in aroma.
