La Esperanza: The Ideal Specialty Coffee for Espresso

This speciality coffee offers a sweet and balanced cup. This coffee make a distinctive impression, as does the freshness provided by the blackcurrant notes. On the palate, the attack is acidic with an intense, cocoa-flavoured body.

About the Farm
You could almost say that these coffee beans from South America, more specifically from Planadas and Gaitania in the south of the Tolima region, were grown in the clouds.

Grown at high altitude, between 1600 and 2000 m above sea level, La Esperanza also benefits from the best possible conditions: organic production and harvesting. Cafés Lugat fell in love with this washed and fermented coffee, which is made from some of the best and oldest varieties: bourbon, typica, caturra, castillo and colombia.

About the Producer
This coffee is produced in two cooperatives of indigenous coffee growers by more than 240 families in the community of NASA WE'SX in the Planadas and Gaitania areas.

Each family owns between 2 and 4 hectares. These areas are protected land for these native peoples, with more than 6,000 trees per hectare. They are the guardians of one of the largest nature reserves in South America.

Their beliefs in caring for their land make them the best allies for producing one of the most delicious coffees in South America using organic farming practices.

They have joined forces with a number of coffee growers' organisations to promote the cultivation of their coffee, provide income for their families and strengthen their communities.

Through their range of coffee beans, ground coffees and Nespresso* Original compatible capsules, their mission is to bring you the unique flavour and aromas from the world's best coffee-producing areas!
Their passion for coffee has even won them awards. Marco, the brand's head roaster, was awarded the French Barista Championship title at the 2017 French Championships.
