Why this Cleaning Kit?

Your Sage machine makes excellent coffee. To preserve the aromas of your beverage over time, you need to maintain your machine. Coffee leaves oil residues during extraction, which eventually oxidize and alter the taste of the coffee. The detergent in the maintenance kit will help dissolve the oils.

What is a Backflush?

Espresso machines can perform a backflush, but what's the point? The backflush cleans the machine's internal circuit. It should be performed according to the quantity of coffee consumed per day, on average once a week for a consumption of 2 to 3 coffees per day. To do this, simply use the blind filter and insert a cleaning tablet. Install the filter holder in the machine. Start an extraction and repeat the procedure without the tablet to rinse. For extra maintenance, you can dissolve a detergent tablet in a tub of water and immerse your filters and portafilter head for 15 minutes. Once this time has elapsed, rinse the accessories under water and brush off any coffee residue.
