Cold brew is a preparation method which, unlike traditional methods, uses cold water.

The coffee is brewed slowly for between 8 and 24 hours. The difference with iced coffee is that the latter uses espresso or filter coffee to which ice cubes are added in order to cool it quickly.

Iced coffee allows you to have a fresh coffee quickly, but risks causing thermal shocks that can denature the coffee. Cold extraction does not have this disadvantage, as the water is already cold. The infusion will take longer, but will respect the characteristics of your coffee.

Another advantage of cold brewing is that during the long infusion, the water has time to bring out all the aromatic notes of your coffee. The result in the cup is an aromatic explosion on the palate.

This product is made in Japan from highly resistant glass.

The removable filter is made of nylon, with a mesh that prevents the ground coffee from passing through.

The top of the bottle and the cap are made of beige silicone.

As well as being easy to use, the Hario Filter-in bottle is simple to clean, as all the parts can be removed and are dishwasher-safe. What's more, its bottle shape makes it easy to store in your fridge door while you brew or enjoy your tea.

Preparing Cold Brew Coffee With the Hario Filter-in

For best results, our coffee experts advise you to use between 55-60g of fairly coarsely ground coffee (Chemex type grind).

Place your ground coffee in the filter and adjust it. Place the top of the silicone bottle without the cap.

Add 700ml of cold water, put the cap on and leave to brew for a minimum of eight hours.

Depending on the coffee, you'll get better results if you leave it to brew for longer. Don't hesitate to leave to infuse for a day in your fridge, stirring occasionally.
