Darjeeling Tea takes its name from the region it comes from in Western Bengal , India.
This black tea is harvested in the foothills of the Himalayas between 400 and 2500m in altitude, on the border between Nepal, Bhutan and Sikkim. There are 87 gardens producing Darjeeling . It is the most popular black tea and is often renamed the "Champagne of black tea". There are 5 harvests, 3 are more significant, giving Darjeeling completely different tastes. The first harvest in Spring, in mid-March, gives birth to a highly prized and expensive Darjeeling because of its delicate flavours, its light body and its sweet spicy notes of muscatel.
