Protected by 5 international patents, the Iperespresso capsule is actually an extraction chamber that acts in two stages: hyperinfusion to bring out the coffee's body and aromas, emulsion to develop a dense and velvety lasting crema. Each Iperespresso capsule contains the perfect amount of Illy coffee needed to make a perfect espresso. Note that the aromas and flavours are kept fresh until the delicious moment when you take your first sip. This kind of coffee pods are only compatible with domestic Illy coffee machines (such as X7.1, Y1.1 Touch, Y5, Y3, X8 and Gaggia Iperespresso).
The company was founded in 1933 by Francesco. In 1974, Illy reinvented the market by creating the unique Illy coffee in pods for outdoor use. Whether in the office or at home, it was now possible to enjoy a unique illy blend as an espresso worthy of a café.
In 1988, the company patented a system for digitally selecting beans, one by one, to keep only the best. The 90s saw the launch of the illy Art Collection small cups, illy's new brand, designed by American artist James Rosenquist, and the creation of the Brazil Prize, awarded to the best dedicated coffee growers.
Today, illy is synonymous with excellence and good Italian taste the world over, headed by Andrea, one of Ernesto's sons.

Preparing an espresso has never been easier. Each Illy aluminium capsule contains just the right amount of Illy coffee (6.7g) to make the perfect espresso.

Illy Iperespresso capsules
Illy Iperespresso capsules are only compatible with Illy Iperespresso coffee machines (X1 Francis Francis, X7.1, X9, Y1.1 Touch, Y5, Y3, Gaggia Iperespresso, etc.). Filter coffee capsules are also available only for capsule machines equipped with the "ESPRESSO & COFFEE" system (Y3.2).
Illy Uno capsules
