The 6-cup D-Kanta coffee maker, with a glass handle, allows you to make a high quality slow coffee. Made in France and designed by the 2017 French Barista Champion. Exclusive to MaxiCoffee.
The D-Kanta was conceived in the Maxicoffee lab by Marco (2017 French Barista Champion) who, after his research on the impact of oxygen on the development of coffee aromas, has managed to design a unique coffee maker.
The D-Kanta can be distinguished from other classic drip-filter coffee makers by 4 features:
70 ° C angle
The D-Kanta uses Saint Anthony Industries filters with a 70 ° C angle against 60 ° C for the other drip-filter coffee makers like Hario and Chemex. This allows the water to be in contact with the coffee grind for a longer period of time and therefore offer more body.
Incorporation of air
The handle of the D-Kanta is actually a tube that allows air to enter the jug during the preparation. This remove the suction effect of the filter on the jug and produces a smooth flow and control of the preparation.
With the D-Kanta, you can slow down the flow of coffee by closing the opening on top of the handle. This will allow your coffee to have more or less body depending on the time you have left the opening shut.
The D-Kanta has 3 bumps at the bottom of the jug. This will allow for a better mix of all the coffee aromas during the brewing process as well as incorporate air into your drink, thus boosting the aromas. The movement of the coffee is no longer just circular but it reacts like waves.
