Organic Coffee Beans: El Viaje - Anemos - Green Lion Coffee

This coffee offers a smooth attack, with notes of milk chocolate. Expect a silky body with gourmet notes of butterscotch. A warm cup, with a long sweetness in the mouth. This lively cup result is the result of a combination of several favourable factors: the high altitude cultivation at 1700 m and the semi-washed processing which gives it a lot of body and little acidity.

Certified Anemos Coffee:

This coffee bean is made from Anemos certified green coffee, which is a collective certification label for carbon-free and transparent maritime transport. The latter was created by the Breton company TOWT, which has specialised in the transport of goods by sail since 2011. Based on the heritage of maritime routes and old working or replica sailing ships, TOWT is bringing back to life an ecological mode of transport that meets current and future environmental issues.

This label guarantees transport that is low in CO2 emissions.

Indeed, during this trip from Santa Marta to Le Havre, the transport by sail saved 1130 kg of CO2, equivalent to 10 183 km for a new car.

About the farm:

This farm shares the beliefs of shade production and has no less than 15 different tree species. The agroforestry system, which goes against the Federation's recommendations, is promoted here. The farm is convinced that its production and quality will only be improved by shading. After a few difficult years, Oscar has found his clientele and now sells almost 60% of his production for export. The coffee comes from the eight farms in the Santander region, an area known for having started a revolution in the 18th century in order to free themselves from Spanish colonialism.

About the farmer:

Oscar Daza was the first in the region to pay for his own organic certification, usually paid for by the Federation. His entrepreneurial temperament led him to take this independence from the Federation in order to find his own customers, be free to make his own choices and manage his production in accordance with his vision of coffee growing.

The Green Lion Coffee brand and its commitments

More than ever, environmental issues and biodiversity are the brand's main concern. Once the best varieties of coffee have been selected, they are carefully roasted, especially in France. Thus, the pure origin coffees from a single region reveal all their secrets in a cup. Those made up of several coffee origins are enhanced by the work of the roasters who develop a real recipe.

Buying such a coffee means participating in a reasoned and committed agriculture while enjoying yourself without any complexes.
