The Story of Cafés Lugat :

More about the Plantation :

We met the last local exporter from Uganda. Committed and passionate, he gives the best to have the quality of his coffees recognized.
Its "Cherry Selection Coffee Program" project aims to offer more traceability and quality. By working with him, we take part in his commitment which aims to better compensate the producers carrying out an optimal harvest of cherries.

7000 producers are associated with this project and benefit from training on their plantations or on a pilot farm. This coffee is therefore produced from the most qualitative productions from 12 geographical areas. Grown on protected soils, in the heart of an advantageous microclimate and under natural shade of banana trees, this coffee perfectly reflects the richness of its terroir. It gives back its letters of nobility to Ugandan cafes.

The Rwenzori mountain range, otherwise known as the "Mountains of the Moon”, stretches along Uganda’s western border with the Democratic Republic of Congo and is the western-most reach of the Great Rift Valley.

Blessed with two rainy seasons and a wide range of agro-ecologies, Uganda provides the world with a steady supply of Arabica and Robusta coffee throughout the year. Its high altitudes and cool equatorial climate promote slow ripening and give rise to some of the best coffees produced by Africa’s smallholder farmers.
