Top 10 of the Best Moka Pot of 2021

Today, let me present you our top 10 of the best Moka pots of 2021!

Moka pots, stovetop espresso makers, or Italian coffee makers, have been a staple for Italian coffee lovers since the 1930s. First invented by Italian engineer Alfonso Bialetti in 1933, this espresso maker offers a strong and aromatic coffee that can be described as being between the espresso and the filter coffee. Moreover, The Moka
can handle any type of roast, any type of hobs (we’ll come back to this) and is an affordable, portable and eco-friendly buy! What else do you need? :)

Even though they can handle any type of roast, they will be best suited for medium roast (my recommendation) and of course Italian’s dark roast!

Now that I convinced you to get a Moka pot, you might wonder which model do you need to buy? Moka pots can differ in quality, price, build and sizes so it is generaly not easy to make the right choice when you get so many options.

To help you, we’ve put together our list of our best Moka pots for 2021 to answer all your questions!

Aluminium Moka Pots

Moka pots are traditionnally made of aluminium. However, following the rise of induction hobs, there are more and more models made of stainless steel. These new Moka pots are compatible with both electric and induction hobs and they keep the iconic design of the original Moka, the Bialetti’s Moka Espress. Aluminium Moka pots will therefore be perfect for an electric stoves but not for induction hobs.

Remember that Aluminium Moka pots must be washed carefully by hand after use. Aluminium Moka Pots can be less durable than their stainless steel sisters, especially if they are neglected and/or damaged by using a scraper or dishwasher. On the other hand, stainless steel is non-porous, non-corrisive and hightly resistant to rust which will guarantee you less work.

Despite the daily maintenance, the original aluminium Moka Pot is still in vogue! Aluminium is light, is cheaper than stainless steel and is a great heat conductor which makes the brewing process quick and easy! With stainless steel Moka Pot, the brewing process can be hazardous sometimes. It will take longer to boil and brew coffee than with Aluminium Moka Pots.
